The Birthday Girl

Isobel doesn’t really have enough hair for a true big girl hair do. She has just enough for two miniscule pony tails on the top of her head. Her pom poms stayed in long enough for pictures, but fell out of her babyfine hair three minutes later.

If you click on the picture below you will notice [...]

Two-Wheeler Wonders

From the second Liv was born I have loved taking her places to experience everything and anything. Even the simplest things were something I wanted her to experience. I took Liv to a local firetruck parade when she was barely one and I cried because I was so happy that she was there to see [...]

Back To School

Liv started school.
First grade.
It seems so big. She will be in the care of someone else for six and a half hours, five days a week. How can my baby be a big girl?
I took Liv back to school clothes shopping and she picked out her own clothes. She has a definite opinion on what [...]

The End Of Frustration… Hopefully

Our internet has been driving me crazy lately. It will stop working in the middle of me writing a post or looking at my email, or reading blogs. I have no idea how to fix it and me being able to read blogs isn’t exactly classified as an emergency for Gary to leave work and rush [...]

Green Smoothies

My fun friend over at Prairie Mama introduced me to green smoothies. What a good friend. I altered the recipe a little to fit our family, but it is the same general idea. Let’s get started, shall we?
What you will need…

A ripe banana
3-4 oz spinach cubes
hot water
a generous Tablespoon of ground flax seed
8 oz of yogurt
two [...]

Green Smoothie Prep

To prepare your bananas and spinach cubes for green smoothies follow these simple instructions…
SPINACH CUBES
First you buy chopped spinach from your grocers freezer section. Thaw on your counter for 30-45 minutes, just enough so it is soft enough to cut, but still frozen.

Next you get your cutting board and large knife ready.

Open the spinach package [...]

One

My sweet baby is one.
Good-bye, counting your age in months.
See ya, rear facing car seat that you hate so much.
Farewell, stinky formula bottles.
Your days are numbered, sweet smelling baby soft skin.
I wish you could have stayed longer, mommy’s baby weight excuse.
Hello big girl!

Cafe Sabor

Last week Gary went four wheeling on his day off and left me with all of the kids. We felt like we neede some fun, too. I knew what would be the perfect thing to do. Cafe Sabor for lunch.
We don’t go out to eat very often so the kids were so excited. Liv took [...]

Medication

It has been two weeks since Holden started his medication. He had three seizures this morning alone, so I called his doctor and we have increased his dosage. I was hoping that the lowest dosage would work.
Holden takes his medication twice a day. 11:00am and 8:00pm. I have my cell phone programmed to ring a special [...]

My Convenience

As a mother, I think differently when I go shopping. The parking spot closest to the store entrance is not the best parking slot. The slot next to the cart return is the jackpot parking space. That way you can load up your kids, groceries, and drop off the cart all without having to leave [...]
